Telangana: Intermediate examination postponed due to MLC elections

The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education has postponed its intermediate examination which was scheduled to be held on March 9 to March 19, Sunday, owing to the MLC elections in Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnagar and Hyderabad districts.

Students pursuing intermediate education are asked to go through the official statement released by the state board to get the revised updated exam timetable.

Certain Changes:

While the exam venue and the time will remain as they were, Mathematics paper-IIB, Zoology Paper-II, History Paper-II and 2^nd year vocational paper-II which are actually scheduled to be held on March 9 are postponed to March 19.

The intermediate examination will be held from 9 am to 12 noon.

A.P - AYUSH Courses through NEET 2017

Dr. NTR UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES - A.P  hereby informs that as per the directions of Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, the University has resolved to make admission into UG seats in Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, and Homoeopathy courses through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) from 2017-18 onwards in order to bring meritorious students to the Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy.

JEE Mains Application Last Date Extended to 16.01.2017

In view of requests from various candidates/parents as well as schools, the date of online submission of application form of JEE (Main) – 2017 has been extended up to 16.01.2017 (11.59 PM). The fee may be paid by the candidates up to 17.01.2017 (11.59 PM). It is further informed that the other terms and conditions for online submission of application form will remain same.

The last date of online submission of application form JEE (Main) – 2017 shall not be extended any further.

NEET: NO SEPARATE ENTRANCE FOR MEDICAL COURSE EXCEPT ENGINEERING IN KERALA

The Kerala Government on December 20,2016 decided not to conduct separate entrance examinations by the state for medical and other professional courses except engineering from next academic year. The students would instead be admitted to medical, agricultural, AYUSH, veterinary sciences from the rank list published by National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), conducted by CBSE.

Last year, the Union Government made NEET compulsory for admissions in medical colleges. The rank list released by the authority here was later cancelled.

The decision in this regard was taken at the Cabinet meeting today chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Therefore, from the next academic year, except for engineering courses, separate entrance examination will not be held for professional courses like medical, agricultural, veterinary science, fisheries, forestry and NEET rank list will be applicable for admission to these courses.

NATA-2017 Dates Released

National Aptitude Test in Architecture, 2017 (NATA-2017) for admission into 1^st year of 5-year B.Arch. CISCE to have its own syllabus, from pre-school to class XII from 2017

Students studying in pre-school till class VIII in schools affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations(CISCE) will have to study a curriculum prescribed by the Board right from academic session 2017-18

Till now, the Board prescribed syllabus only for classes IX to XII. Most schools followed NCERT syllabus for junior classes till VIII. The curriculum prepared  by the Board will be released at the 59th annual conference of Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate (ASISC) beginning in Lucknow from November 23.

"Earlier, we were preparing curriculum only for class IX till XII. But now with us having our own syllabus right from pre-school will ultimately help students to prepare for ICSE examinations in a better way. Now, students will be capable of working towards the board examinations much before.

The revised syllabi for ISC (class XII) and ICSE (class X) will be applicable for students taking the exam in 2018. The changes in the ICSE 2018 syllabus are in the subjects of history and civics, geography, mathematics and physics.

JEE ADVANCED DATE RELEASED

Aspiring IITians' wait for the announcement of dates for the entrance test is over. The Joint Entrance Exam or JEE (Advanced) 2017 will be held on May 21, 2017, IIT-Madras has announced.

The forthcoming entrance test, considered as the toughest exam in the country, will be conducted by IIT-Madras. The previous exam for JEE (Advanced) was conducted by IIT-Guwahati.

Remodeling of IIT JEE entrance exam the entrance exam to the prestigious IITs will see several changes in the coming session. For 2017, 20,000 more candidates will be eligible to write the JEE (Advanced) after clearing JEE (Main), thus taking the total up to 2,20,000.

The Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry has taken a significant decision to encourage more students from the SC and ST communities to write the test. The cut-off for the aggregate marks in Class 12 for SC and ST candidates has been reduced from 70 per cent to 65 per cent. In the coming year, students from foreign countries will be allowed to take admission in the IITs after clearing the test.

Telangana New Districts list

Government of Telangana has taken up the task of Districts reorganization of the existing districts excluding Hyderabad, for better administration and development of the areas comprised therein and for matters connected therewith as per the Telangana Districts Formation Act, 1974 and Telangana District Formation Rules, 2016 Under Section 3 of the said Act the Government may by notification from time to time, for the purposes of Revenue administration, divide the state in such districts, divisions and Mandals and each district shall consist of such Revenue divisions and each Revenue Division shall consist of such Mandals and each Mandal shall consist of such villages and the Government may by notification from time to time specify in this behalf.

Telangana CM KCR directed the State’s Administrative officials to prepare action plan to start functioning in the new districts from August 15th or Dussehra this year.

The Telangana government after much deliberation, decided that the state would get 17 new districts taking the total number of districts to 27.

The state is divided in to 27 districts covering an area of 114,840 km² (44,340 sq mi). The largest district is Mahaboobnagar and the smallest being Hyderabad.

According to reports, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had a marathon six-hour meeting to discuss the Cabinet Sub-Committee report on the proposal of new districts.

Telangana is a state of Republic of India, consisting of the parts carved out of the ten north-western districts of erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh. The city of Hyderabad would serve as the joint capital of Telangana and the remainder of Andhra Pradesh for ten years.

Rio 2016: Sindhu claims historic silver

PV Sindhu became the first – ever woman Olympic silver medalist from India across all sporting disciplines, Sindhu ranked 10^th in the world losing 21 – 19, 12 – 21, 15 – 21 against world no 1. Carolina Marin and settled for silver medal in the women's singles badminton at the Rio Olympics on Friday.

There was one last hurdle that Sindhu needed to cross in the women's singles final at the Rio - Carolina Marin. And the 21-year-old seemed to be on the right track after she stunned the Spaniard with a fighting 21-19 win in the opening game. That came after she was down 6-11 at one point but fought back to run away with the lead.

That Marin has been a dominant force in women badminton circuit for the past two odd years became evident in the second game when she pulled things back, opening up a 4-0 lead. Eventually, she got the better of Sindhu who came into the final on the back of some stunning performances wherein she beat world no 2 and 5 in the quarters and the semi-finals respectively. The Indian conceded the second game 12-21.

In the decider, even though Marin maintained an upper hand, Sindhu never backed out of the challenge, clawing her way back every time her opponent presented with even the slightest of an opportunity. It was all even at 10-10 but Marin pulled out her a game and eventually rode the momentum to win 21-15.

Heartbroken as Sindhu and her fans in India might have felt, she did left an indelible mark on the competition with her aggressive game and fighting spirit. Clinching a silver at Olympics is by no way a mean feat.

TS EAMCET-II SCRAPPED

The Telangana government has cancelled EAMCET-2 and announced the scheduling of EAMCET-3 for admissions into MBBS, BDS courses in Telangana on Tuesday evening.

The exam will be held on September 11.

Telangana government has replaced EAMCET convener and appointed JNTUH Registrar Yadaiah as the new convener. The decision has been taken after a review meeting chaired by the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday with regards to the EAMCET-2 question paper leak met to deliberate on this matter, and undertake measures to make the exam foolproof this time.

The government decided that JNTUH would conduct the exam.

The communique said that the students can appear for the exam with the same Hall Ticket Number allotted for EAMCET-2. They are exempted from any examination or registration fee.

The students can also avail free transport in RTC buses on the exam day by showing the hall ticket, the statement said.

With regards to the scrapping of EAMCET-2, CM KCR said that re-examination was inevitable due to legal issues and also urged the parents of the students not to worry about the re-examination and help their children to write the exam well with confidence.
