AEEE (Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Amrita University) is a prestigious private university spread across India in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. Its headquarters are at Ettimadai, approximately 22 kilometers from Coimbatore. Amrita University was recently [2016] ranked 181 in the Times Higher Education BRICS and Emerging Economies Rankings. Among Indian institutes, this ranking makes it as No. 1 private university and overall 15th among Indian universities.
In 2011, Nobel laureate Leland H. Hartwell joined Amrita University as an adjunct faculty member. The university offers bachelors, masters, and doctoral degree programs in computer science, engineering, business, biotechnology, nanotechnology, Ayurveda, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, social work, communication, education, and basic sciences. Areas of specialization, such as medical informatics, computational engineering, cyber security, clinical research and oncology, have been designed in keeping with the National Development Plans of India. 18,000 students are enrolled in nearly 100 degree programs.
Eligibility:
B. Tech. honors programme is primarily meant for those who have a good base in competitive programming. It is recommended that students with programming skills may apply. Aggregate minimum of 80% in +2 or equivalent from CBSE / ICSE / State board / any other board and a minimum of 80% in Mathematics. Selection is based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination. Participants in the following tests / competitions will get preference:
- Rank scored in Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering 2017.
- Marks scored in IIT JEE Main.
- Those who are eligible for National Talent Search Scholarship.
- Those who are KVPY.
- INOI / ZCO / ZIO selection.
- Score in any of the online judges.
- Score in any school contests.
